Floods and Blizzards – Two natural disasters at the same time have disrupted public life in the United States. The country’s weather forecasting center, the National Weather Service, was quoted by Reuters as saying in a report on Saturday.

According to the National Weather Service, heavy rains and strong winds since last Thursday have caused flooding in the Pacific coastal states of the northwestern United States, including the capital, Washington, California. As a result, traffic in the capital is being severely disrupted. Various pictures and video footage of the flood have already been published on social media.

At the same time, when it was raining heavily in the west of the United States, blizzards appeared in the east. According to the National Weather Service, heavy snowstorms have hit the eastern provinces of Kentucky, Virginia, Pennsylvania, New York and Maryland. On Saturday morning, each of these states was covered with a layer of 15 centimeters (more than 6 inches) thick snow.

The state of Virginia was among the worst affected by the blizzard. The blizzard has disrupted power supplies to the country, and more than 50,000 customers in Virginia are currently without power. In addition, about 2,600 flights were canceled in the United States on Thursday and Friday due to snowstorms and flooding.

However, officials at the country’s Meteorological Department said the disaster was not expected to end soon. “According to the information we have, there is a possibility of more thunderstorms in the west today or tomorrow and at least one blizzard in the east,” officials told Reuters.
